About Us

Euclid TechLabs LLC is a research and development company specializing in the area of conventional, dielectric and superconducting RF accelerators. Our expertise ranges from the design of complete accelerators, to accelerating structures and the advanced components and materials employed in modern accelerators. Euclid has been a pioneer in the development of dielectric wakefield accelerators, and has extended its expertise in this arena to technologies for THz RF generation.

Euclid combines the efforts of leading science and technology experts to create innovative technologies and applications. Euclid has a long history of successful collaboration in engineering development and experiments at Argonne, Brookhaven and Fermilab. Euclid is a leading supplier to US DoE National Laboratories, universities, and industry.

Dr.Alexei Kanareykin, President/CEO

Alexei Kanareykin graduated from St.Petersburg University, Russia, M.S. in Physics and received his PhD in Physics in 1986 from St.Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" and Sc.D. (Habilitation) from St.Petersburg State Unversity, Russia in 2012. He has held several positions at St.Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" including Chair of Physics Division. Since 1991 A. Kanareykin has worked in collaboration with Accelerator R&D, High Energy Physics Division, Argonne National Laboratory, and with Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Alexei Kanareykin is currently President and CEO of Euclid Techlabs LLC. His research interests include new methods of charged particle acceleration, wakefield acceleration in dielectric structures and plasma, advanced materials development for accelerator applications, plasma physics and computer simulations. He has also been active in the area of "smart" materials fabrication and composite technology development intended for microwave design applications.

He has been awarded research grants from the International Science Foundation 1995-1996, and the Civilian Research & Development Foundation 1996-1997, US DOE SBIR, Phase II 2002--current.

Dr. Chunguang Jing, Vice President for Engineering

Chunguang Jing received his Ph.D. in 2005 from Illinois Institute of Technology. Supported by Laboratory Director Graduate Appointee grant, he performed his thesis work at the Argonne Wakefield Accelerator Facility of Argonne National Laboratory. Since graduation, he has been a Senior Researcher at Euclid Techlabs LLC, and was promoted to VP for Engineering in 2012. Dr. Chunguang Jing has been a Guest Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory since 2005. He was an instructor at the US Particle Accelerator School in 2010.

His research interests are focused on high gradient accelerating structures and electron sources. In particular he works on RF coupling design schemes, wakefield acceleration, photoinjectors, field emission sources, breakdown studies and power extraction, etc; all in the range from few GHz to few THz. He has been a Principal Investigator on 12 DoE SBIR projects (2007-2014). He has authored and co-authored two book chapters, over 30 refereed journal papers (including RMP, PRL, APL, etc.) and 100 conference papers.

Dr. Paul Schoessow, Vice President for Scientific Computing.

Paul Schoessow received his PhD in Experimental High Energy Physics in 1983 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was with the High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory from 1983-2000, working on the Argonne Wakefield Accelerator, Minos, and the Collider Detector at Fermilab. From 2000-2001 he was Senior Software Engineer at ETEC Systems Interconnect Products Group, Tucson, AZ, from 2002-2004 he was a Senior Scientist at Electro Magnetic Applications in Lakewood, CO, and from 2004-2006 he was a Principal Scientist at TechX Inc., Boulder,CO.

His main research activities have included numerical simulations of beam and laser-driven dielectric accelerating structures, wakefield acceleration experiments, accelerator controls and instrumentation, nonlinear effects in dielectric devices, applications of accelerator-based studies to instrumentation for cosmic ray physics and electromagnetic scattering problems for the Global Positioning System. He has also been involved in active microwave media based acceleration, novel rf sources, and microwave measurement techniques. His current interests include electromagnetic and N-body simulations on novel computing architectures (graphical processing units, parallella multicore single board computer.)

Dr. James Butler, Vice President for Diamond Technology.

James E. Butler graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with B.S. in Chemical Physics and received his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Chicago in 1972. He was then a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chicago until he joined the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). He retired from NRL as the Head of the Gas/Surface Dynamics Section of the Chemistry Division in 2010. Dr. Butler has researched the growth, surface chemistry, defects and properties, applications and devices from Diamond Materials grown by Chemical Vapor Deposition since 1986. In 2011 he joined Euclid Techlabs and serves now as VP for Diamond Technology.

Dr. Butler has published over 273 refereed journal papers in experimental chemical physics, including elementary reaction dynamics, chemical kinetics, laser photochemistry, spectroscopy, optical diagnostics, surface chemistry and diverse chemical vapor processing systems. He is serving as technical advisor to ONR, SDIO, NSF, and DARPA on various diamond research initiatives, he has participated as a technical expert in a White House inquiry on controlling trade of ‘conflict’ diamonds, served a consultant to various companies in the industrial diamond industry. He was presented with the Sigma Xi NRL Edison Chapter Applied Science Award in 2001, the NRL Technology Transfer Award in 1995 and 2009, and the Chemical Society of Washington Hillebrand and the Navy’s Meritorious Civilian Service Awards in 2010.

Dr. Sergey Antipov, Head of Radiation Source Department.

Sergey Antipov received his PhD in 2007 from Illinois Institute of Technology. He performed his thesis work at Argonne Wakefield Accelerator Facility. Dr. Sergey Antipov has been a Director's Postdoctoral Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory in 2007 - 2009. He had been an instructor at the US Particle Accelerator School ("Novel High Gradient Accelerating Structures", MIT, 2010).

His research interests are focused on high gradient dielectric loaded structures. In particular he works on RF coupling design schemes, wakefield acceleration, high transformer ratio studies and power extraction; all in the range from few GHz to few THz. He has been awarded US DOE SBIR research grants including, Phase II 2012--current.
