Job Opening: Research Scientist

Position Duties

  • Assist in the development of beamline design and scientific computing.
  • Coordinate simulation support and feedback to the RF design group on related projects.
  • Provide technological assistance to pursue a new direction of accelerator physics related software/algorithm research and development.
  • Coordinate all simulation, experimental, and mechanical engineering efforts.
  • Lead the data analysis for all project experiments.
  • Provide end-to-end simulation and optimization support.
  • Build, maintain, and upgrade the computing clusters for Euclid Techlabs.
  • Serve as a liaison with Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory’s Accelerator Division and Argonne National Lab’s Advanced Photon Source division for research collaborations.
  • Education

    Ph.D. in Physics, Accelerator Physics, or related (Beam Physics, High Power RF)

    Job experience:

    24 months (Post-Doc. Researcher, Research Associate, Scientist or related).

    Special Requirement:

    Must have 24 months experience working at a National Laboratory or major University operating large scale accelerators. Must have 36 months experience in beamline design, optimizations, beam dynamic studies and data analysis; scientific computing on accelerator physics and algorithms including experience with accelerator physics software such as MADX, ELEGANT, ASTRA, G4Beamline and programming languages such as C++, Python, BASH, PHP and HTML.
