Euclid Techlabs has been developing the BBU-3000 suite of codes, for modeling wakefields and beam dynamics in cylindrical and planar dielectric structures. The BBU-3000 code was developed primarily to study BBU effects in dielectric loaded wakefield structures. In these devices the intensity of the drive bunch required to achieve high accelerating gradients also sets prohibitively tight limits on the injection tolerances without some capability for mitigation. Ongoing analysis of the problem using BBU-3000 suggests that BBU effects can be controlled by the addition of a FODO channel or solenoid around the wakefield device.

Euclid also distributes the Superlans family of PC/Windows® codes for cavity field calculations.

  • SuperLans: Monopole modes in axisymmetric cavities and periodic structures (perfectly conductive cavity walls, lossless dielectric and ferromagnetic insertions).
  • SuperLANS2: Multipole modes in axisymmetric cavities (perfectly conductive cavity walls, loss less dielectric and ferromagnetic insertions).
  • CLANS: Monopole modes in axisymmetric cavities (perfectly conductive cavity walls, high loss dielectric and ferromagnetic insertions). Excitation problem for monopole oscillation in presence of high loss materials.
  • CLANS2: Multipole modes in axisymmetric cavities (perfectly conductive cavity walls, high loss dielectric and ferromagnetic insertions)
