Euclid Techlabs has received a Department of Energy SBIR (Phase I) award to develop a novel non-radioisotopic portable calibration source. Using our patented brazeless and compact accelerator technologies, Euclid aims to remove the need to use dangerous radioisotopes by replicating the gamma-ray spectrum of Cs-137 through bremsstrahlung radiation.

The essential benefit of such an calibration system is the replacement of high-activity radioisotope sources that pose significant security and safety risks. Euclid’s accelerator technologies can make these calibration sources economically feasible and simple to operate.
