CVD Diamond Materials Extend to Quantum and Electronic Applications

Euclid Techlabs reports further progress in high quality single crystal epitaxial chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond growth for X-ray Optics, Quantum, Electronic, and Particle Detector Applications.

In addition to exceptional crystallinity and strain characterization in (111) epitaxial growth, crystal purity in terms of nitrogen defects has been shown to be outstanding in Euclid’s CVD diamond material as well. For a 5x6x1.5 mm3 block of (100) epitaxial growth the occurrence of substitutional nitrogen (Ns) via electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) showed a 0.29 +/- 0.06 ppb in a block. Spatially-resolved photoluminescence analysis showed that most of the NV concentration was localized, and therefore the Ns concentration may be 10X lower in the remaining portion of the sample.
